Awhirl

597. Awhirl

Who sets my heart awhirl. Old turn of phrase.

Sometimes I get upset thinking of all you endure.
I feel helpless as neither material nor physical comfort.
But I know the purity of my heart brings it's own healing,
Just as your praying for me gives my heart a stirring.

Oh love, can't we live as man and wife?
Semi retired as gives me a chance to dust off my fife.
And watch as you trill a tune to the very Gods
That we can serve as we help all and sundry beat the odds.

It's 4 years to the day I let another heartbreak ravage me.
Oh princess won't you just open your eyes and see
That this love I have inside is the special healing kind.
I can do a lot for you but I can't read your mind.

It feels good to devote this shower of letters to you.
Each one sadly about ME but it helps me not to be blue.
I'll grant that your the tougher of us two,
But I'm done with the rat race, this time for good.

I know the sacrifices I made for my dreams.
How I broke my health for King Rat - how loud my screams.
Now the winds of change are blowing, it's time to birth a new world.
A kinder more caring one, so in your dreams let your mind go awhirl.
