For a dear techer of mine.
Fifty something years around the sun and still I wonder
At the largeness of God's heart - He who fills our every bowl.
I took to teaching decades ago, the sharing of one's humanity in all it's splendour.
Now inspiring others to do so - with the austere might of their entire soul.
The Bard called just now and begged me tell him the secret,
Of how to swim once again - something he used to be good at doing
I told him to put his thoughts away and just plug away - not to fret,
That sublime faith in the process would help him - that caring
For ourselves is easier said than done, but we've no choice,
Sometimes we lose our way, but that too is a part of the game.
Life is a magnificent thing to behold - the trick is to find our voice.
That authentic voice that urges us to find and light the flame.
I'm now a year older and I reflect grimly on our collective pain.
We strive for fantastic things, but are also often love lost and down,
The trick is to just shed our burdens not letting them cause any more drain
On our psyche, rather to be a flying like sparrows all around town.
I also give thanks for the treasures I've found along the way.
The pearls of wisdom and nuggets of gold strewn all over for us to find.
It's scintillating this life, so dare and win your dreams I say.
Then more of us can help each other be our utmost loving and kind.
